About NYC AOII

Following the founding of Alpha Omicron Pi at Barnard College, now a part of Columbia University, the first alumnae chapter of Alpha Omicron Pi was founded in New York City in 1904 by the Fraternity's founders and earliest members.

In August 1995, the New York City Charter was bestowed  anew upon the alumnae chapter at a formal ceremony at the Marriott Marquis Hotel, attended by representatives from International Headquarters and other area collegiate and alumnae chapters.  Two years later, the AOII NYC Alumnae Chapter hosted the Alpha Omicron Pi Centennial Celebration Convention at the same location.

As AOII Sisters, we recognize that sisterhood is a lifelong process. The AOII NYC Area Alumnae Chapter exists to continue to foster that bond created between you and AOII as a collegiate member. The chapter plans a wide variety of programs and events throughout the year to meet a wide range of interests and schedules. Some events are open to members only, and others are open to family and friends. We welcome sisters of all ages, from recent graduates to members of the 50-Year Club and beyond. The NYC Area Alumnae chapter serves New York City, including the boroughs of Manhattan, Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens & Staten Island. We are also convenient to members who live outside the area, such as residents of Hoboken and Jersey City, but commute to NYC for work.
